Sail Repair

March 20, 2022

Last summer my lovely new Rolly Tasker Code Zero caught a small split pin in the rigging that wasn’t taped…. ugh! Luckily it was the last sail of the season. The light air sail is amazing, transforming the boat in light air from sitting slug to dancing on the breeze. I highly recommend the code zero or a cruising chute, it can sail straight downwind or point in light air.

The actual repair was pretty straightforward, tape, patch and stitch.

I repaired it with my “new” Pfaff compound feed sewing machine, a bit overkill for rip-stop nylon but it is such a nice machine to work with, especially since I put on a servo motor for slow speed control.
